On! - The Season's New Eye Chic
This season
you'll see some eye-popping bright eye shadows in the stores and they
might look a little intimidating to wear. The secret is to look for a
shadow that's medium weight and not too heavy, with a translucent lustrous
- not heavily frosted - patina.
Stick to
one color and apply a light, first layer. If you want more color, repeat
layers gradually so you can stop and judge the effect and intensity each
time, before you add more shadow.
With a bright
eye, the rest of your face should be shy - If you use an eye liner, choose
a shade close to the eye shadow instead of a hard contrast shade like
dark brown or black. For day, go without mascara. For night, add just
enough for definition. Finish with a soft-tinted sheer lipstick or lip
gloss and a hint of blush.
SOFT
METAL. Another great look this season are the new metallic,
pearlescent and sparkling eye shadows. It's a look anyone can wear --if
you match the right colors to your natural skin tone, you'll get fabulous-looking
results:
- Women
with fair skin look cool in silver or beige metallics
- Medium
skin tones look warm with gold or bronze metallics
- Dark-toned
skin looks vibrant with copper metallics
