Start
fresh. Re-sharpen your pencil before every application.

Color:
For blondes – choose a taupe or light brown shade. Brunettes
– medium to dark brown or charcoal black. Red hair –
auburn or brownish red. Salt and Pepper, grey or white
hair – choose slate grey or medium brown. |

Recipe
for Bleaching Brows: Women of color can create more
brow emphasis by bleaching the hair just a few shades
lighter, to a warm chestnut or reddish blonde tone.
Mix and apply a facial-hair bleaching cream and leave
on the brows for a minute or two, checking to make sure
you’ve achieved the desired lightness. If you overbleach
and the effect is too light, don’t worry. You can correct
with a brow powder or pencil – and you’ll know to remove
the bleach a little earlier, next time. |

4. |
Tame
wayward hairs with a tiny bit of brow fixative or vaseline
after your brow color. |
|
5. |
Pencils
give the cleanest, most precise definition. Powders
give a soft effect and need minimal blending. To heighten
the arch, apply extra bit of color at the highest peak.
|
|
6. |
Never
draw brows downward at the ends. Strive for a winged
effect. |
|
7. |
Want
to darken brows? Have a professional do it to get the
exact shade you want. |
|
8. |
Pluck
hairs from underneath the brow. Grasp hair at the root,
pulling hair out towards the temple in quick, firm strokes.
|
|
9. |
Pluck
at night after washing your face. Follow with disinfectant.
|
|
10. |
Never
shave the brows. |
|
11. |
Never
draw a new browline above the natural one. |
